Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager – Upstream & Downstream to lead growth initiatives, forge strong industry partnerships, and expand our company’s presence across the upstream and downstream oil and gas value chain. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the energy sector, a robust network of industry contacts, and a proven track record in identifying, developing, and closing high-value business opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in both upstream (exploration and production) and downstream (refining, distribution, and marketing) segments.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions and growth planning.
- Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including government agencies, oil & gas companies, and financial partners.
- Lead the end-to-end business development process: opportunity identification, proposal development, deal negotiation, and contract execution.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to meet sales and revenue targets in line with company objectives.
- Monitor and analyze project performance, ensuring profitability and sustainability of all business engagements.
- Collaborate with technical, legal, and finance teams to ensure compliance, risk management, and project feasibility.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and strategic meetings to promote the company’s brand and capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver business development reports, forecasts, and presentations to senior management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Petroleum Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in business development within the Oil & Gas sector, with proven experience in both upstream and downstream operations.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and international oil and gas markets, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated success in deal origination, structuring, and closure of high-value contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate risks and financials.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
