Woodland Nigeria Limited, a leading agro-allied and manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Human Resources Manager to lead its HR function. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business goals, enhancing workforce engagement, and ensuring compliance with labour laws while supporting growth in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
.1. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract high-caliber candidates for both technical and non-technical roles.
Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting and screening to interviewing and onboarding.
Establish partnerships with recruitment agencies, academic institutions, and professional networks to build a robust talent pipeline.
2. Employee Relations and Engagement
Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture that supports employee satisfaction and productivity.
Address employee grievances and resolve conflicts professionally and in a timely manner.
Implement wellness, engagement, and recognition programs to foster employee loyalty and morale.
3. Training and Development
Identify skill gaps and develop customized training programs to improve workforce capability.
Lead initiatives for professional development, including workshops, mentoring, and team-building activities.
Support continuous learning, especially in specialized areas like manufacturing and project management.
Design and implement effective performance management systems aligned with company goals.
Coordinate regular appraisals and feedback sessions to drive employee performance and development.
Coach managers and employees on goal-setting and performance improvement strategies.
5. Policy Development and Compliance
Draft, review, and enforce HR policies in alignment with local labour laws and international best practices.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and workplace regulations through regular audits and updates.
Serve as the HR compliance officer, keeping abreast of regulatory changes affecting the workplace.
6. Compensation and Benefits Management
Oversee the administration of payroll, benefits, and employee compensation.
Conduct compensation benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in the industry.
Recommend and implement employee benefit enhancements to attract and retain talent.
7. Organizational Development
Work closely with leadership to design HR strategies that support long-term business goals.
Drive organizational change and process improvement initiatives.
Provide HR support during expansions, restructuring, or new project rollouts.
4. Performance Management
Strategic Thinking: Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams.
Communication: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or project-oriented organization is an added advantage.
Conflict Resolution: Proficient in handling disputes and facilitating positive outcomes.
Multitasking: Capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
HR Tools: Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, and performance management systems.
Labour Law: In-depth understanding of Nigerian labour laws and compliance standards.
