JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth, client acquisition, and market expansion within our HR Consulting division. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working in a consulting firm, with a proven ability to sell HR solutions, manage key accounts, and build strong client relationships.
The role requires excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to represent the company professionally within the Lagos business environment.

Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and meet quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Identify, prospect, and convert new clients across various industries within Lagos and beyond.
- Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals, pitches, and presentations for HR services.
- Lead negotiations and close deals with senior executives and decision-makers
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct needs assessments to understand clients’ HR challenges and recommend suitable solutions.
- Oversee client onboarding and ensure the successful delivery of HR services in collaboration with internal teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations and key account engagements.
Market Research & Strategic Input
- Analyse market trends, competitors, and business opportunities to guide strategic decisions.
- Identify new service areas, partnership opportunities, and potential growth markets.
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategies, service improvements, and business development frameworks.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Consulting, Recruitment, Outsourcing, Training, and Operations teams to deliver client expectations.
- Participate in internal strategy meetings and contribute to company-wide business development initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry events, networking meetings, and HR conferences.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and updated sales pipelines, forecasts, and client activity reports.
- Provide timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with company processes and maintain proper documentation in the CRM system.
Requirements
Education & Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or any related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' proven experience working in a consulting firm (HR consulting experience is an added advantage).
- Strong track record of meeting sales targets and managing corporate clients.
- Membership of a professional body (CIPM, NIM, SHRM, etc.) is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HR consulting services (Recruitment, Outsourcing, Training, HR Audit, Performance Management, etc.).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and proposal writing skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and business presentation tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
