Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Bidding:

  • Accurately interpret architectural and engineering design drawings to prepare, measure and price detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Source and secure the most cost-effective and competitive pricing specifically for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) bids without compromising quality.
  • Expertly review, understand, and prepare comprehensive Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses and bid packages tailored for multinational corporations and top-tier clients.

 

Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate favourable terms and secure maximum discounts on materials.
  • Rigorously evaluate incoming contractor and subcontractor bids, identifying discrepancies and leading contract negotiations to ensure optimal commercial terms.

 

Project Cost Control & Monitoring:

  • Implement strict cost control measures and conduct value engineering exercises throughout the project lifecycle to optimise overall project expenditures.
  • Proactively manage project variations, diligently track claims, and process change orders while maintaining accurate financial documentation.
  • Continuously monitor and analyse local and global market trends, material costs, and labour rates within the construction industry to ensure accurate financial forecasting.

 

Site Operations & Compliance:

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess construction progress, verify work completed against claims, and approve interim valuations for payment.
  • Facilitate clear communication and collaborate closely with site engineers, contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Guarantee that all project activities, procurement processes, and contracts fully comply with relevant industry standards and legal requirements.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.Eng., or B.Tech) in quantity surveying, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, architecture, building technology, or a closely related discipline. (Professional membership with NIQS or similar regulatory bodies is an added advantage. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven, hands-on experience in a quantity surveying, cost engineering, or estimating role within the commercial or residential construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis and cost tracking.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard quantity surveying, estimating, and construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, PlanSwift, MS Project).
  • Deep, practical understanding of end-to-end construction methodologies, building materials, local building codes, and standard contract procurement routes.
  • Strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
